Our director, Reay Mackay, is in Perth this week representing aXcelerate at the Training Providers Forum (Western Australia’s leading conference on training and workforce development).

aXcelerate's booth at Training Providers Forum 2013

It’s a two-day conference featuring examples of good business practice and innovation, with a special focus on sustainability, technology, and advances in training. We’re particularly excited because not only is this a chance to gain insight into all the latest updates, but it’s also the perfect opportunity to network with fellow training professionals, including teachers/trainers, RTO/VET training managers, and VET consultants.

The event runs 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM today (17 June) and 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM tomorrow (18 June). Points of interest include a keynote address on “Opportunity and Orientation in Online Education” from Australia’s leading futurist, Mark Pesce. Allan Blagaich will be giving a plenary presentation shortly on vocational education and training (VET) in the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Blagaich is Chief Executive Officer for the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.

After lunch, there will be two informational sessions held, with experts in relevant fields hosting lectures on topics ranging from “Vocational Competence and Currency: The Regulator’s Approach” (Steph Testrail, Training Accreditation Council) to “The Impact of E-Learning Technologies: What do We Know?” (Sue Fergusson, National Centre for Vocational Education and Research).
