While some of us would class navigating our way through office application software like Excel or Word as a highly frustrating experience, the team at Sutherland Training thrive on it. This comes as no surprise, as they’ve specialised in training individuals and organisations in the most widely used office applications, since establishing themselves as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Sutherland Training focus on delivering quality training in Business Administration and Small Business Management. However, a key portion of their training is dedicated to teaching students how to efficiently use computer and office software applications. Because these applications are often an integral part of the systematic day-to-day running of a business, Sutherland Training are finding that their short course offerings in MYOB, Microsoft Word and Excel are the most popular courses they deliver alongside the following accredited courses:

-Certificate III in Business Administration

-Certificate III in Microbusiness Operations,

-Certificate IV in Small Business Management

-Certificate IV in Business (Social Media)

Sutherland Training have been in operation on the Sunshine Coast since 2007 and during this time have seen over 2000 students enrol in both their accredited and non-accredited courses. Before 2007, the company was an established training company in both South Africa and London and consequently have extensive knowledge in operating an international business and possess highly experienced training staff.

Solutions

When first launching operations in Australia, Sutherland Training were using their own student management system they had developed, to manage student enrolments and compliance records. However as the enrolment numbers continued to grow and compliance requirements became more extensive, the system had reached it’s limits. Suddenly Sutherland Training were in need of a more comprehensive system that could handle enrolments and efficiently meet AVETMISS reporting requirements.

Since partnering with aXcelerate, Sutherland Training has found that they can access their student records and report on these students more efficiently through utilising both our CRM and reporting capabilities. This is particularly important to Sutherland Training as a key value of the organisation is to provide small and tailored classes to their students in order to provide memorable and effective training experiences for each individual. Being able to effectively store and manage students’ training sessions within aXcelerate has become a huge benefit in this regard.

Sutherland Training has also found that the repetition involved in reporting and general administration tasks has minimised since using aXcelerate, which allows them to focus on their key objective; delivering high quality training.

Looking to the future

As we continue our partnership with Sutherland Training into 2016,  a key focus will be to help them utilise our CRM and automation functionality even further, in order to help promote their courses to their student base. We will also work together to develop customisations within our survey and reporting features so as to better meet Sutherland Training’s requirements and to continue to grow their successful business.
