Here at aXcelerate we are strong advocates of corporate social responsibility and are committed to making the world a better place through giving back to the community. An example of this commitment is providing the non-profit organisation Conservation Volunteers Australia with our accredited online training and management program. We are confident that with our support, the Conservation Volunteers Australia are able to create a healthier, diversified and more sustainable environment.

Conservation Volunteers Australia is Australia’s leading practical conservation organisation that completes more than 2000 conservation projects across Australia each year. If you are within the age of 17-70 you are allowed to volunteer for one of the many projects that are offered each year. Volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and best of all there are no prior skills and experience required. The following are some of the current programs and projects offered.

 Flora & Fauna

The flora & fauna program primarily focuses on protecting Australians biodiversity by implementing strategies to protect its endangered species through its Wild Futures initiative. As a result of the changing landscape and human activity, these unique species are at risk.

 Landcare

The Landcare program is primarily concerned with tackling a range of issues that affect the sustainability of our land, including salinity, erosion, and invasive species. The organisation works with Landcare groups, farmers, catchment and local authorities and other landowners. Volunteers for this program aid in projects that include revegetation, which involves large scale tree planting, weed and pest control, fencing and seed collection.

 Parks and Reserves

Conservation Volunteers Australia works in partnership with parks and sanctuaries across Australia to help protect these natural places, and their inhabitants. Volunteers of this program will help with projects that may include track construction and maintenance, interpretive signage, fencing, weed and pest control, re-vegetation activities and other practical actions in line with park management plans. Volunteers are also likely to carry out wildlife surveys and support specialised species programs such as captive breeding programs, radio tracking and species release activities.

 Coast and Waterways

Volunteers of the coast and waterways division are responsible for maintaining the healthy sustainability of Australia’s vast coastline. Projects include assisting a range of environmental problems including erosion, salinity, drought and pollution. Volunteers in this area engage in a variety of projects that work towards protecting our precious coastlines and waterways.

 Healthy Communities

This program is solely devoted to fostering healthy communities to protect, enhance and preserve natural species while simultaneously improving individual and community health and enjoyment. Volunteers of this program will help connect people with their natural environment to help them forge stronger and healthier relationships with both the environment and their community.

 Heritage

Volunteers of the Heritage program are involved with protecting and conserving natural, built and cultural locations of significant. Volunteers of this program will gain satisfaction in knowing they are helping the legacy of our past which forms an integral part of life today in the form of stories and places that make up our national identity.

 Disaster Recovery

Along with the obvious support needed after natural disasters, little know that there is a massive need to support the longer term recovery for the environment. Volunteers of the Disaster Recovery programs aim to help fire impacted communities tackle the massive task of  rebuilding thier conservation; reinstating essential fences and infrastructure, re-establishing native vegetation, controlling new & emerging high risk environmental weeds, and provision of lost habitat for native wildlife. In addition to bushfires, Conservation Volunteers has a long history of assisting in both the response and recovery phase of numerous other disasters including devastating cyclones, oil spills and whale-strandings. There are a range of projects available, that involve working in regions currently affected by disaster.
